Average girl?

We've all been created with different gifts, different dreams, and abilities.

Have you ever stopped to think how different you are from each person you bump into during your day? How different you are from everyone! No one on earth is quite like you, looks exactly like you, walks like you, thinks like you do, or does what you do like you do it.

But too often we focus on our shortcomings, on our flaws and on past mistakes that we miss out on the beauty of all these things. We constantly compare ourselves to other people, and as a woman I know that all too well! We live envying one another, coveting each other's blessings, asking in frustration why her body or her hair is better than ours.

I lived many years bitter and jaded because I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin; I didn't understand my calling or my purpose on earth and I envied women who did and who walked confidently with their heads up high. I preferred to fade into the crowd than to stand out, because I feared being judged or unaccepted. Too many people live their lives this exact same way, their identity is shaped and defined by how others perceive them and they thrive on popularity and acceptance. It wasn't until I broke away from the crowd and learned to sing my own tune that I found true freedom. I began to care more about what my Creator thought about me and less about what my classmates thought. My life was forever transformed and today I love the skin I'm in and I can boldly confess that I wear it with joy!

Today I encourage you to also take the time to consider all those things that make you unique, to love what you see in the mirror and realize that you're waisting the gifts He's given you. Because those talents and gifts are simply a loan to fulfill His purpose on earth.

How will you use them?
