The world, media, movies, public opinion, among many others have all influenced our perspective of what love really is. We grow up watching Disney movies where the princess gets swept off her feet by a gorgeous, perfect man and takes her away on his white horse. If only life was really like that; men with no flaws, no facial hair, and no difficult mothers! But the truth is quite different, perhaps that explains why so many women become frustrated! Because they desperately desire and search to be loved in such a way that anything less that dream from the movies is an utter disappointment. Our standards have been set so high that they are false and unreachable expectations and we waist tears away contemplating why he's nothing like the prince we know so well. Before he knows it he has competition and the odds of him winning are slim to none; without him even knowing she has been wanting someone else all along. It's important to note that life is different from movies, every woman longs to be loved in that way and it can be granted, as long as we know that we must love with the same intensity in order to receive that fairytale love in return. Because love is all about what we can give, and nothing about ourselves.
