*Mark 9:14-29
There was a young man who was possessed by a spirit that robbed him of his speech. The father said the boy had been like that since childhood, causing him to go into convulsions and foam out the mouth and even attempted to kill him by jumping into fire and water.
In an instant Jesus with a few words set the boy free of a life-long infirmity that not even His own disciples could heal. But Jesus gave the key! They asked Him why they weren't able to heal the boy and Jesus replied "This kind (of demon) can come out ONLY by prayer AND fasting".
Likewise, there are situations that can only see breakthrough, doors that have been closed shut for long periods of time that can only be opened once we FAST. It weakens our flesh and strengthens our Spirit and faith.
So if you find yourself today confronted by a situation that never seems to change...I ask you: Have you fasted for it lately?
